Approximately 1 in 10 patients worldwide are affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD), many of whom experience the complication of anemia which currently leaves them with symptoms that can dramatically reduce quality of life and increase risk of cardiovascular disease, hospitalization and mortality. At GSK, we are following the science of anemia to better understand how to help these patients, who are often undiagnosed and undertreated. GSK is proud to be expanding our team working on CKD in the US and we are seeking experienced and passionate professionals to join our exciting journey. Daprodustat belongs to a new class of medicines that is being investigated to treat anemia in CKD patients. Daprodustat has the potential to be a new oral treatment for patients with anemia due to CKD in both non-dialysis and dialysis settings.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, including the ability to sell a buy and bill biologic and the following responsibilities
  • Perform all required duties in assigned territory in accordance with the expectations indicated in the Selling Ways, promoting aligned products within Specialty selling team.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with (but not limited to) nephrology, other specialties, and pharmacy staff, within assigned accounts
  • Develop and implement effective customer specific territory plans; provide relevant, thoughtful input to other commercial colleagues regarding strategic and tactical planning for territory, area, and region.
  • Embrace and follow GSK policies, practices, risk-based standards, and values in support of our customers, patients, fellow employees, and individual expectations.
  • Complete all required training, testing, and product certifications within the designated timeframes.
  • Have long standing relationships with key customers and an in-depth knowledge of the disease state, key drivers, influencers, and prescribing patterns in their territory
  • Analyze sales information and recommend actions to maximize opportunities aligned to brand strategy.
  • Proactively decide on activities, educational programs as well as HQ-approved resources needed to effectively pull through the identified sales opportunities with targeted customers and other key stakeholders in territory/accounts.
  • Prioritize time and effort to ensure optimal coverage of appropriate physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.
  • Identify and recommend solutions or refer to matrix partners (as appropriate) for product-related issues that arise in the accounts (reimbursement issues, distribution issues)
  • Meet or exceed established expectations for account / call activity and time in territory.

Territory: San Diego including Riverside, North + South Orange County, Long Beach, Huntington Beach, coastline areas.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Minimum 7 years pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree - Master's Degree or above
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • 4+ years of experience in nephrology and/or cardiovascular and/or diabetes
  • Experience developing, implementing, executing, and measuring success with accounts and formulary decisions
  • Local relationships with Nephrologists
  • Proven track record of consistent high performance
  • Product launch experience
  • Virtual sales experience
