Job Description
The Security Officer 2 works for the iconic Remington brand to provide basic plant security which is essential in protecting employees, our facilities, and plant assets.
This position reports to the Safety Manager and is based out of our Lonoke facility. This role pays $19.00 per hour and works 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2 pm - 10 pm
As the Security Officer, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Direct those unfamiliar with the site to their destination, escalate issues by following established protocols.
  • Watch for spills, leaks, fires, theft and vandalism.
  • Be the first point of contact for those entering the Remington Ammunition site, including regulatory officials and law enforcement.
  • Check badges of employees accessing plant.
  • Make foot and/or vehicle-assisted rounds, perform various compliance inspections under environmental, safety and security mandated programs.
  • Warns violators and documents any infractions such as loitering, trespassing, smoking in restricted areas, and carrying forbidden articles.
  • Check gates to ensure they are closed and/or locked if appropriate.
  • Act as emergency coordinators and first responders to significant spills or environmental incidents.
  • Conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant.
  • First responder to accidents, emergency and/or crisis situations. Investigate vehicle/traffic accidents on site.
  • Monitor camera’s, alarm panels and badge reading equipment.
You Have:
  • Must certify as 8-hour HAZMAT responder within six months of employment
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must possess basic mathematics skills
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of physical security systems
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be certified in fire extinguisher use within 90 days of employment
  • Must be able to pass background checks for unsupervised access to explosives (Employee Possessor)
  • Must have valid driver’s license without restrictions
  • Must be trained in threat response within 90 days of employment
  • Must be certified in First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work alternate work schedules as needed
You might have:
  • One year or more of prior security field experience
  • Two-year technical diploma in law enforcement or similar
  • Prior law enforcement or military background
