Seasonal Grants Associate

What You’ll Do:
The Seasonal Grants Associate is responsible for processing grants recommended by NPT’s donors. This is accomplished through researching and validating grants, reporting on grants made through the various databases, and ensuring that we are compliant with our grant-making practices.
The intended shifts available are Monday through Friday, but NPT will request some flexibility during our busy season of November-December. This role starts on October 11th, and the intended completion date is on or around the end of January. This role will require some in-office work.
Part-time and full-time hours available.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work in Salesforce to direct cases to appropriate individuals and teams
  • Support the Grants Team as needed
  • Perform outreach to charities, donors and/or their Financial Services teams on grant due diligence inquiries
  • Assist in monthly grant re-issues
  • Grant research using search tools
  • Validate grant recipient organizations
  • Run grant reports as needed
  • Answer telephone/email questions from internal and external constituents regarding grants and other donor service needs
  • Print and prepare weekly grant checks for mailing to the respective charity
  • Enter and process grants in database(s)

What You Bring
  • Skilled problem–solver
  • General knowledge and interest in philanthropy and charitable matters
  • Experienced with database or processing work, Salesforce experience a plus
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational and time management skills
  • Success in being a contributing member of a team
  • At least two years’ experience in a nonprofit or financial service setting
  • Capable of multi-tasking and keeping others well-informed
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Competent and friendly telephone demeanor
  • Excellent verbal, writing, grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Self-motivated, possess a high sense of initiative
  • Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Reliable internet access
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Success in meeting deadlines
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
