To enable Labcorp to lead in the development of companion diagnostics (CDx) for oncology and rare disease, we are seeking a highly motivated scientist to help develop and optimize molecular clinical diagnostics for clinical trials and commercialization. Successful candidates will have a strong background in molecular biology methodologies, including experience developing and troubleshooting molecular assays (e.g., qPCR, ECL, NGS, DSP). The Labcorp CDx team develops assays according to recognized standards for IVD development and in compliance with US FDA and EU IVDR regulations. Therefore, experience working in a regulated laboratory environment is preferred, as well as experience developing assays under design control and using risk management tools (e.g., hazard analysis, FMEA). Technical experience with the development of immunoassays is a plus.
Essential Job Duties:
- Maintains laboratory in a regulated environment.
- Performs laboratory work independently
- Data analysis with various instrument and computer software (e.g., JMP)
- Writing and reviewing technical documents such as technical reports for clients, SOPs, and/or Design Control documents
- Supports and assists in planning experimental design
- Performs laboratory work including complex laboratory instruments including but not limited to immunoassay (MSD-ECL, bioMerieux VIDAS), sequencing, qPCR and digital PCR methodologies.
- Supports Quality Management Systems as applicable
Experience and Education:
- Proactive with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus 5+ years in the field; or Masters degree plus 3+ years in the field.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment, both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication, collaboration and organization skills
- Experience in handling multiple sample types (e.g., FFPE, blood, saliva, serum)
