Job Description
Description


Looking for someone to be primarily responsible for gene editing - DNA extractions/PCR and subsequent reporting and interpretations. This is a role that requires a ton of attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct routine lab maintenance activities as needed
  • Assist in the planning and execution of experiments to deliver gene editing reagents to plant cells
  • Perform regular timely maintenance of plant cell cultures
  • Plan and communicate within the team to ensure delivery of experimental timelines
  • Troubleshoot and optimize routine protocols such as PCR and digital PCR assays
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed
  • Follow and achieve high adherence to Quality Management and Stewardship SOPs
  • Independently perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, digital PCR, DNA extraction, and sample preparation for sequencing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date experimental records


Additional Skills & Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or Master's in Molecular Biology or related field with 1+ years of relevant work experience.


  • Ability to work independently and to work effectively as part of a team are critical
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential
  • Hands on experience in tissue culture and plant transformation is desirable
  • A desire and ability to achieve independence and excellence in performing regular duties is required
  • Working experience with gene editing tools in any organism is preferable
