We are looking for an Academic Intervention Specialist to join our dedicated team at a thriving and inclusive school, You will play a vital role in enhancing student growth and achievement in key subjects such as reading, writing, math, and science. Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and English Language Learners.
Create targeted interventions and customized lesson plans to support small-group and one-on-one instruction.
Collaborate closely with general education teachers to ensure the success of co-taught lessons.
Utilize various assessments to monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, promoting positive behavior and academic growth.
Act as a supportive resource for students, offering counseling and guidance when needed.
Partner with parents and guardians to involve them in the intervention process and provide updates on student progress.
Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions to stay current on best practices in intervention strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, special education, psychology, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification or license, preferably in special education or a relevant area.
Prior experience teaching elementary school and working with diverse student populations.
Strong understanding of intervention strategies, behavior management techniques, and special education laws and regulations.
Proficiency in foundational reading and numeracy is highly desired.
Ability to analyze student data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and fellow educators.
