UAB Highlands OR scheduler is responsible for coordinating with the Director, Assistant Nurse Managers, and Team Leaders in organizing and managing the Operating Room schedule. This role is vital to the planning and implementation of the daily surgical schedule in the Operating Room. The role requires good written and verbal communication skills to interact with surgeons, residents, and surgeon schedulers. The role requires attention to detail of the surgery schedule. This candidate will need to be able to learn specific scheduling computer programs. These are the primary requirements and duties of this posting.
To contact patient or responsible party to obtain missing information or incomplete demographic information or insurance information. To verify insurance through electronic process. To contact insurance company to obtain eligibility and verification of all covered and non-covered services for scheduled appointments. To handle all portions of new patient and simulation scheduling and pull daily reports.
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience required.
