Department Summary
The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) at UNTHSC has three multidisciplinary departments that include Physiology & Anatomy, Pharmacology & Neuroscience and Microbiology, Immunology & Genetics. SBS takes great pride in shaping the future of the biomedical workforce with three focus areas: education, student service and research. Our students are educators, researchers, and health care professionals of tomorrow. The research areas of SBS are diverse and include cardiovascular, neuroscience, health disparities, vision science, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, nanotechnology, pharmacology, and numerous other areas.

Position Summary
SBS will be hiring Teaching Assistants for the summer 2023 semester for graduate level courses. The activities involved could include the following:
Grading discussion boards (with faculty oversight)
Grading quizzes (with faculty oversight)
Grading exams (with faculty oversight)
Leading or participating in individual lectures
Leading or participating in lab-based experiences
Responding to student e-mails/questions
Posting and holding office hours
Leading exam reviews
Leading group discussion
Leading group review sessions
Managing content and formatting on Canvas (with faculty oversight)
Assisting faculty in creating content for specific activities

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
