My client is a subsidiary of Daikin America that specializes in compounding. For over 40 years they have been experts and industry leaders in the motor vehicle manufacturing space.
- Responsible for contributing to the market strategy and formulation of business plans with the team and the General Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by General Manager.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans and budgets.
- Responsible for market analysis and commercialization of products in each market segment. Conduct market research studies and yearly surveys in the given market(s). Translate industry sales into product share or potential share. Collect and maintain all relevant data for the assigned industry.
- Direct account responsibility across all markets.
- Leading, managing, and developing a multi-person sales force through Sales training/coaching/people development. Leading and facilitating in a team environment.
- Issue Monthly activity reports, outlining progress against key opportunities as well as activities and issues for customers in the territory and provide competitive updates
- Provides end user marketing for the company: a. Market the company and its products b. Uncover new applications for products c. Gain product approvals
- Monitor Performance against objectives no less than monthly and develop tactical plans / counter measures to maximize against all opportunities and mitigate problems when they occur.
- Provide the appropriate end user insight and end user access to products and technologies and to serve as a primary point of contact for throughout the supply chain. Translate uncovered needs into practical actions that lead to sales of products.
- Attend sales or trade meetings and read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, environmental regulations, or industry developments.
The Successful Applicant
- Ability to work across Japanese-American cultural lines, preferred but not required.
- Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
- Strong team player, able to interface well with other groups.
- Strong administrative skills and ability to use PC's and corresponding software packages as tools for the job.
- Highly Developed Communication skills, Motivational skills and good human relations skills are required to develop personnel and interact in all functional areas to accomplish the company goals
- Industry experience is preferable in polymers and elastomers. Previous market/sales development experience in the medical, pharmaceutical and/or food industry
- Willingness to travel frequently. Successful marketing and/or sales management track record.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or related field or related equivalent experience is required. Advanced studies in Marketing Strategy & Management are desired.
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Negotiation - Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
- Enthusiasm, perseverance, and curiosity are essential as well as passion for success in growing business.
- Hands-on capability assisting fabricator customers in development and production scale-up activities is desirable.
