Our employees are game-changers, and we offer tons of career growth and earning potential as a key member of the Fluence Commercial Ag team, the Sales Manager, Commercial Agriculture will manager a team that provides world class service to our most business-critical customers through the full sales cycle - from exploration and consultation through order generation and revenue. The candidate will lead, expand, and evolve our North American direct and indirect sales team, improve our sales operation and business development capacity and capability, and drive top line results while transforming our value proposition and business model. In this role, the individual will be accountable for the growth of both the direct revenue & partner network, pipeline, booking, and sales of Fluence’s solutions. Your focus will be on greenhouse food crops, vertical farm producers, research & development clients, and ornamental growers.
What you’ll do
  • Engage with strategic direct accounts on up to a C-level and drive key account management
  • Develop North American sales strategy while achieving annual booking and revenue targets
  • Lead, enhance and expand channel and strategic account sales team & partner management, as well as interfacing with field application teams, inside sales, and sales operations teams
  • Drive and improve the account and partner development and management process and program, including enhancing and expanding the partner network
  • Achieve team sales revenue goals and contribute to reaching Commercial Ag team goals as well as overall Fluence goals.
  • You will oversee all aspects of the customer relationship to assist them through the sales process from initial consultation and design through solution presentation, closing and revenue.
  • Understand customer goals early in the relationship and partner with internal technical experts and external industry partners to provide the right solutions.
  • Work across Fluence with subject matter experts in areas such as lighting design, fixture engineering, installation teams, pricing and finance to meet the needs of customers, resolve customer issues and provide world class service in a timely manner.
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience through accurate collection and updating of customer information, sales and history through the dedicated CRM system.
  • Annually create team account plans for top revenue producing, strategic accounts, review monthly with Manager and present to a wider audience as needed.
What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture Science, Agronomy, Business or equivalent
  • Required in-depth technical growing knowledge of the climate-controlled growing environment food crop and high-wire vegetable industry (ie. Greenhouses)
  • Ability to travel >50%, located near a major airport in region.
  • Candidate must be fluent in English. Preferred candidate will also be proficient in Spanish.
  • Must have 7+ years of relevant horticultural working experience, preferably in sales/customer relations management in the controlled growing environment sectors (ie. Greenhouses) Position incumbent should average 5+ years of Sales Team management experience.
