Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Work with the sales team to technically advise on the sale of products. It is a sales engineer’s responsibility to explain the technical and functional aspects of a product or service to users.
  • Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
  • Prepare training guides and develop customer staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Communicating customer requirements to product management teams.
  • Acquire new customers by winning them over from competitors and discovering new opportunities.
  • Recording technical demo videos for new and existing products and services.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Host partner and end-customer facing Webinars.
  • Conducting in-depth product demonstrations of products/services.
  • Works closely with sales teams and support to facilitate new and existing business.
  • Travelling throughout all sales territories when required.
  • Negotiating contract terms.
  • Prepares sales competitive reports and battle cards by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends in the channel on competing products.
  • Troubleshooting client problems.
  • Support the product marketing team with new product releases i.e., documentation and product demo recordings.
  • Presenting the product and all features to customers at events such as conferences and seminars.
  • Writes blogs, case studies & technical white papers on a regular basis.
  • Provides product, service, & equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests. Performs product demonstrations and free trial check-in calls to facilitate the sales process.


Experience & Skills:

  • Understanding of Windows domains and system administration i.e., Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, Windows Server/Client Operating Systems.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to successfully assist the sales team in closing deals.
  • Strong negotiation social problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of basic networking (IP Addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Understanding of network security tools i.e., Firewalls, IDS/IPS
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity Operations i.e., alert triage, investigation, response, and remediation.
  • Experience using RMM tools i.e., Datto, Kaseya, etc.
  • Experience writing scripts in PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • 5+ years of experience as a sales engineer.
  • Understanding of different compliance frameworks i.e., NIST, CIS, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI-DSS.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience using remote access tools i.e., VPN.
  • Understanding of different endpoint security tools such as Antivirus, EDR, IDS/IPS
