The Sales Development Manager is responsible for working closely with Account Management pods and Business Development pods. The Sales Development Manager manages a team of Sales Development Specialist. The team works closely with the lab diagnostic Account Executives and Business Development Executives to maintain and grow laboratory testing to existing customers.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy managing people, understand consultative selling, are achievement-oriented and will think outside-the-box to exceed annual sales goals through strong collaboration with partners and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is success-driven, fast-paced, and works well in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic and changing environment.
The position is remote based with the willingness to travel when required.
Responsibilities
- Execute related CRM tasks pertaining to funnel reviews
- Manage operational issues related to instruments and assays identified by team
- Manage and lead and Sales Development lab diagnostics team
- Achieve specified sales metrics including calls and CRM activities
- Elevate critical issues and needs to Territory Directors and Business Development Directors
- Develop market knowledge in affiliated regions and key accounts to improve and potentially tailor problem solving approaches
- Enhance customer experience and develop customer relationships
- Identify and manage customer service trends to improve service outcomes, direct potential product issues and support sales strategy development
- Provide customer with product literature and have the ability to discuss the points that are most relevant to the customer’s situation
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong relationship management skills
- Minimum 3 year experience in full cycle sales (i.e. Account Executive, Inside Sales Rep) preferred
- Results oriented
- Proficiency utilizing a CRM system
- Excellent team orientation and leadership skills
- Ability to manage and lead a high performing Sales Development Team
- Ability to multitask
- Disciplined “prospector”
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to adapt
- Lab Diagnostics product knowledge required
- Solid sales presentation and communication skills both verbal and written
- Experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proven track record of success with an assigned sales quota
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative in business situation
- Ability to self-manage
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage conflicts and escalated issues
- Skilled in sales/negotiating/generating leads
- Exhibit strong business acumen and ability
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Specialized sales training/certifications preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20% of time or more domestically

The pay range for this position is $137,000-$182,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The annual incentive target is $80,000.
