Responsibilities


Responsibilities:


  • Directs volunteers assigned to the unit with the assistance of the Registered Nurse.
  • Adjusts Resident's plan of care as needed and informs families regarding any changes in the Resident’s condition.
  • Conducts nursing (quality) rounds monthly and as needed on all shifts.
  • Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of needs and current developments.
  • Evaluates rotation of staff and consults with Director of Nursing/ Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings .
  • Supervises the RN, LPN, and NA trainees during the orientation period and/or delegates this responsibility to the Shift Supervisor or Registered Nurse on the designated shift.
  • Adjusts section assignments and evaluates workloads after consultation with Registered Nurse on the unit.
  • Discusses new ideas , procedures, products or concerns with the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing prior to implementation.
  • Monitors the needs of the unit, including but not limited to supplies and linens.
  • Educates staff, oversees the implementation of new policies and procedures and periodically reviews current procedures, working in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development as needed.


Job Type: Part Time


Salary: $58,020.30 - $72,516.60 per year


Qualifications


Qualifications:


  • Current NY State Registered Nurse L icense
  • BLS Certification


Education


  • Associate D egree required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
