Job Description
What to Expect

We are seeking Revolutionary Actuaries for Tesla Insurance with industry experience to assist with actuarial and product management functions for Personal Line Auto business. The Actuary will be responsible for profitability studies, portfolio deep dives, managing states in market, and claims for product development & enhancements. They will implement best practices in analytical techniques, partner with other actuaries and product managers in assessing the impact of loss trends and claims emergence, and assessing the impact of product changes.

What You’ll Do
  • Analyze the profitability of the Personal Line Auto book of business
  • Monitor rate, exposure, retention, and impact of business changes. Monitor loss trends and relevant industry/regulatory changes and effectively communicate to the management
  • Support reserving studies
  • Develop reports and perform deep dive analyses, as needed, inclusive of claims analytics, underwriting analytics, mix shifts, and others
  • Support implementation of product launches and enhancements
  • Research and develop best practices pricing techniques to be implemented across the business
  • Develop analytical tools to help business effectively manage existing portfolios
  • Prepare and manage rate filings, including engaging with legal and regulators as needed, to ensure profitability and compliance of each state
  • Develop pricing and underwriting strategies and identify pockets of profitable growth opportunities
What You’ll Bring
  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
  • Responsive to service needs and operational demands
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 2+ years in personal lines pricing preferred
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • 2+ CAS exams passed
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • High energy and passionate about statistics and numbers
  • Strong business and collaboration skills
