Job Description


The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.00/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.


Reserve: a position working an average of 20 hours per week (anywhere between 40-999 hours per year).


The Retail Sales Assistant is responsible for sales, exceptional guest service and accurate cash register operations. This includes assisting guests with making their selections, checking inventory locations for guests, up-selling and cross selling, and increasing revenues. Other responsibilities include opening and closing the shops, performing assigned side work, restocking merchandise and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the shops. The incumbent will also provide general support and assistance to the leadership, department, and company.


Schedules can vary but are generally between 8:00 am-11:00 pm, 4-8 hour shifts. Weekend and evening schedule availability is a requirement for this position.

Requirements:


  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest service environment as part of a team.
  • Exceptional guest relation and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous retail and/or customer service experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of prior retail or guest service experience in an upscale/luxury setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing world class guest service.
  • Some locations may require special skills or experience and/or may have age requirements or restrictions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and multi-task.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sale (POS) system. Previous experience with cash handling helpful.
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs, be proactive, and take initiative where appropriate.


Physical Requirements:


  • Standing and walking for the majority of time (85%).
  • Ability to lift 25lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • High energy and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders.


Essential Job Duties:


  • Open and close the retail shops.
  • Greet and welcome all guests. Do all possible to make each guests visit memorable and pleasant.
  • Familiarize and keep knowledge of all shop merchandise, old and new, up to date as often as possible.
  • Clean and organize shop to keep shop presentable and representative of the Biltmore brand at all times.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Provide exceptional guest service.
  • Efficiently handle of large sums of money.
  • Exhibit proper phone/radio etiquette.
