Job Summary:
Restaurant and Wine Manager of Napa Rose
As the Restaurant and Wine Manager, you will oversee, manage, and direct the spectacular Napa Rose wine program and all front of house operations. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the excellent quality of fine wines, productivity goals, budget and unit cost objectives, new product development, bespoke pairings with our culinary team, trend identification with list adaptation, and tactical education and sales strategies to develop the team. Front of house objectives are focused on training and development, hiring casting, coaching, and financial performance of the restaurant. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that production schedules are met, inventories are managed, and maximum wine quality and service standards are achieved.
The Restaurant and Wine Manager will play a crucial role on the floor and act as the face of the restaurant. In this role you will be able to swiftly create genuine relationships with Guests and Cast, providing a desire to dine and work at Napa Rose, while providing an inclusive and welcoming instruction of wine. Essential Job Functions:
- Manage departmental business planning, budgeting, training, quality improvement, continuous improvement, and spending control processes.
- Manage and direct the wine operation and assigned staff to meet or exceed established standards.
- Provide empowering leadership, communication, and coaching to Cast members, creating a motivated employee ecosystem of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
- Maintains and awareness on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Manage the restaurant's financial performance by tracking revenue and expenses, managing labor costs, and developing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Control and monitor wine orders, stock, and par levels working with the Receiving team to ensure product accuracy.
- Manages the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the restaurant’s wine collection; working with design team to ensure top quality products and papers are used and ensuring Grand Award qualifications are met.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes, procedures, and programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the operation.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Open flexibility – you must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent wine and beverage knowledge and wine pairing ability
- Minimum 5 years wine operations and front of house management experience preferably in fine dining, luxury resort, or platinum private club
- Excellent inventory management experience
- Proven leadership in growing and developing a team, preferably in a union environment.
- Minimum 2 years wine purchasing experience.
- Certification in Wine Education; preferably ‘Certified’ level or higher from Court of Master Sommeliers.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a focus in Hospitality Business Management

- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to drive initiatives to increase Guest and Cast loyalty.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively drive sales and profits.
- Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by Guests and Cast alike.
- Time management and deadline oriented.

- Excellent guest service and hospitality skills and professional presentation
- Excellent interpersonal communications and presentation skills

The hiring range for this position is $92,742.00 to $124,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
