As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Emergency Management Logistics Coordinator to join our team.
About The Role
In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. As an Emergency Management Logistics Coordinator, you will be based at an on-site state or local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or field site. Your mission will be to ensure communities are well-prepared to handle emergencies and equipped to bounce back stronger.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with emergency managers and partners to assess resource needs and efficiently deploy, track, and demobilize resources during crises.
Assist in setting up vital incident facilities such as base camps, points of distribution, and disaster recovery centers, crucial for effective response operations.
Lead daily meetings with a diverse group of stakeholders, fostering clear communication and coordination.
Create insightful summary reports for leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making.
Stay on-site, working closely with clients for extended periods, actively supporting their emergency management efforts.
Demonstrate composure under pressure, juggling multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines with ease.
What We're Looking For
A genuine desire to make a positive impact by helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
Bachelor's degree or higher, showcasing your commitment to continuous learning and growth.
At least five (5) years of professional experience in emergency management logistics or a related field, giving you a solid foundation to excel in this role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey critical information.
Understanding of the emergency management system and how various jurisdictions work together during large-scale incidents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint) to streamline your work.
Flexibility, integrity, and a strong dedication to excellence, making you a reliable and collaborative team player.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting research on complex issues and presenting outcomes to supervisors or larger audiences, demonstrating your ability to think critically and provide valuable insights.
Past involvement in an Incident Management Team (IMT), contributing to your understanding of disaster response protocols.
Ability to identify, mobilize, and track resources effectively during events or incidents, showcasing your resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience working in a Logistics Section during a disaster, giving you an advantage in handling emergency operations.
Training as a Logistics Section Chief or completion of Logistics Section Position-Specific courses, showing your commitment to professional development.
