Respiratory Therapist- Per Diem (Santa Monica Hospital)

As a Respiratory Therapist in the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica you'll have access to the absolute latest technology and treatments for the care of your patients. With the possibility of working anywhere in the health system, you'll handle clinical situations ranging from the routine to the highly complex for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Assignments include all critical care areas, Emergency Department, medical floors, Operating Room and intensive care units. Perform routine and complex Respiratory Therapy for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Assignments may be required to work in any area in the Health System. Will be working mainly night shift. May require rotating shifts Day/Nights. Salary: $60.17/hourly

Educational Requirements: Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar- preferred Licenses/Certifications: RCP State License-in the state of California Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS)- preferred Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) - preferred Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs. Must be able to physically roll a 100 lb, horizontally positioned patient Must have skill in performing routine pulmonary function test Must have familiarity and knowledge handling: Blood Gas Machines, Exercise Systems and other types of equipment routinely found in pulmonary function laboratory Must possess oral and written communication skills sufficient to communicate with colleagues, administrators, patients, visitors, staff, faculty, physicians, and on-site service men Ability to rotate between Adult, Peds, and NICU
