Job Description
The individual selected will be an organized, dynamic self-starter who will coordinate the routine and ad hoc medical education functions, events, presentations and reviews that are inherent in the oversight described above. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle/process confidential matters appropriately. In addition, the incumbent will have a proven ability to be task and results oriented as multiple priorities are handled.


The Residency Administrative Assistant serves in an administrative support staff role within the GME OBGYN department. This position is fundamental to their respective departments and the role those departments serve towards achieving the mission of the corporation. Supervision comes from the Program Director of the respective department coordinator.


  • Perform clerical work word processing, copying, typing, filing and record keeping.
  • May be assigned regular or ad-hoc projects to meet the needs of the respective department or other corporate task forces.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings, send correspondences, prepare agendas and meeting areas (with equipment and food as necessary), take minutes, copy and distribute materials to participants.
  • Create letters and memos (concerning normal operations of the GME Program). Engage in telephone correspondence and delivery of telephone and voice mail messages.
  • Make conference and travel arrangements for others in the department.
  • Open and distribute mail.
  • Perform work on a personal computer of an advanced nature (i.e., beyond basic word processing); database data entry, spreadsheets, and online calendars varying in nature and scope relative to departmental needs.
  • Maintain departmental supplies.
  • May serve as a liaison between their department and others in the corporation.
  • Planning special projects or events either departmentally or corporate specific, requiring organization and planning.
  • Engage in routine decision making and consult with others as appropriate.


Education Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or applicable professional certificate from an Administrative/Business (related).


Experience and Qualifications Applicable experience working in an office environment, utilizing clerical resources and technologies. Excellent written and verbal communications, strong computer skills, and time/stress management skills.
