The Successful Transition to Early Adulthood Milestones (STEAM) Project is a federally funded project, implemented within the Child and Adolescent Bipolar Services (CABS) and Services for Teens at Risk (STAR) clinics. The goal of this project is to integrate peer support services into our clinics to improve outcomes for young people (16-25 years old) with mood disorders.


This employee will oversee the STEAM project, which will include building and maintaining relationships with community partners, providing direct and indirect supervision for other staff, tracking participants through the project, and monitoring overall quality and progress.


This position is grant funded.


Purpose:

This is a key position within the Successful Transition to Early Adulthood Milestones (STEAM) program. The employee will work with faculty leadership to oversee the overall development, implementation, and continued evaluation of the STEAM project. The employee will provide day-to-day oversight for all project-related activities, including collaborating with county officials and community partners to perform a needs assessment, convening an advisory council, coordinating trainings for Peer Specialists, and tracking participants throughout the STEAM project protocol.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor quality, compliance, and project/program outcomes.
  • Facilitate community collaborations by establishing community connections and coordinating meetings/community events.
  • Coordinate and make all arrangements for Peer Specialist trainings.
  • Manage program referrals.
  • Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff related to project.
  • Oversee proper data collection processes.
  • Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of project data collection and management, including data flow, data entry/verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security/confidentiality.
  • Develop and foster relationships in underserved communities with community-based organizations to support the goals of STEAM and address regional health disparities.
  • Work with project evaluator and Advisory Group to communicate evaluation results and to ensure project is meeting community needs/goals.
  • Monitor budget accounting on grants, financial statements, and financial reports.
  • Develop/coordinate recruitment strategies with community partners to increase recruitment of individuals from minoritized groups.
  • Schedule/Coordinate Advisory Council meetings and maintain group communication.


Qualifications:

  • BSN or BS in related field, Master’s preferred.
  • Supervisory skills necessary to plan organize and direct activities of assigned staff.
  • Successful demonstration of the completion of the competencies required by the department/unit.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in human relations, ethical-decision making, problem and systems analysis, long and short-term strategic planning and proactive professional behavior.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, investigators and Institutional Review Boards.
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical trail design and management, clinical monitoring, database management, FDA regulations and ICH Guidelines.MS Office skills include PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in clinical research.
