Job Overview

The professional Financial Analyst works in one or more areas of financial, business or budget analysis. Assists hospital management in making sound business decisions through analysis of existing programs, new programs and service lines.

This Financial Analyst position supports clinical research in the Child Health Research Enterprise (CHRE). The Research Financial Analyst develops, negotiates and manages complex research budgets and conducts ongoing financial tracking, reporting, analyses and presentation to multiple internal and external leaders, customers and other stakeholders.

Department: Research Business Services
Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. This position may have the possibility of being hybrid upon successful completion of training/onboarding.

Qualifications

EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
EXPERIENCE – Three years of experience in related field.
EQUIVALENCY - In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, one year of related professional experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education.

Research Analyst Essential Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Develops and negotiates clinical trial budgets with multiple leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with internal and external leaders and stakeholders, with a strong focus on customer service and continuous quality improvement.
  • Conducts complex research budgeting and accounting functions, including the gathering, analyzing and presentation of financial information, as well as interpretation of data and recommendations for action.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Prepares month end analyses and tasks to support financial close and reporting
  • Assists team members with ad-hoc requests and analyses
  • Supports workforce planning, tools and systems associated with position management
  • Conducts studies to analyze financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
  • Provides interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory, or customer financial regulations.
  • Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Evaluates profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
  • Preparation of reports, and analyses in areas such as capital budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
  • Works with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, and operating forecasts.
  • Supports data requests from internal / external customers

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $69,647.24 to $104,470.86
Hourly Salary Range: $33.48 to $50.23
