Job Description

Gaize is dedicated to building the best automated impairment screening technology.Unlike other screening technologies, we look for active impairment by measuring eye movement, rather than for the chemical markers of recent use.We recently completed the largest cannabis impairment clinical trial ever done, with more to come.Our clients in law enforcement and industry use our tools to ensure safe roads and safe workplaces.


Gaize is looking for a Research Director in the Philadelphia area to own testing and research of our core product.This is a hands-on position and your job will be to personally collect data on a wide variety of people using our virtual reality device in a variety of scenarios, coordinate with clinical partners to establish additional avenues for data capture,coordinate and execute clinical trials, analyze this data, collaborate on peer-reviewed research papers, and report on ways to improve our product to meet our clients' needs.This position is fully remote and will not require going to an office on a regular basis, although we can make arrangements if you would prefer to work in an office.You will need to regularly travel around the Philadelphia area to perform tests,and will occasionallytravel nationally or internationally to conferences and other meetings.


Responsibilities and Duties:

* Collect data using Gaize's impairment detection technology.

* Analyze data using statistical and observational methods and provide analysis to leadership.

* Manually tag data sets containing features of interest for detecting drug, alcohol, and other forms of impairment.

* Provide feedback on improving tests.

* Reliable transportation to perform tests as needed is required.


Desired background:

* BS or higher in a scientific field such as biology, chemistry, psychology, physics, biochemistry, or related science.

* At least two years experience conducting scientific studies either in an academic or a commercial environment.

* Excellent analytical skills and an ability to draw defensible inferences from complex datasets.

* Good interpersonal skills.

* Good written communication skills.

* Excellent professional references.

* Comfort in working with impaired individuals would be a strong advantage.

* Deep personal interest in the subject matter. This is groundbreaking research that has broadlynot been done before. Yourcuriosityabout how impairment impacts eyemovement will greatly aid your success.


Not required, but nice to have experience with or interest in:

* Experience with cannabis or other drug research.

* Experience with virtual reality headsets and technology development.

* Experience with eye movement data.
