Additionally, it is expected that the candidate will be involved in quality control testing of different products. Intrinsyx Bio, Inc. is a privately held agriculture company commercializing three decades of leading academic research in the plant microbiome. Our endophytic microbes fix Nitrogen (N2) directly from the atmosphere into ammonia which helps improve nutrient use efficiency for crop plants, grasses, ornamental plants, and trees. These microbes live in leaves, stems, roots and do not require a nodule. They also mobilize insoluble phosphorus (P2) from soil into roots and help with phosphate mobility from the roots into the shoots.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare microbial dry and liquid formulated products.
• Generate SOPs for new experiments, interpretation of data and reporting results.
• Optimization of microbial growth and survival.
• DNA extraction via kits and PCR.
• Sample preparation for submission to third parties.
• Analyze microbial product samples.
• R&D new product formulation and prototypes.
• Demonstrates proactive attitude towards site safety by exhibiting exemplary behavior accomplished through excellent safety practice.

Skills, Education, & Knowledge Required

• Minimum of 5 years of lab experience using microbiology techniques, molecular biology techniques and/or plant science techniques
• Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Word, PowerPoint and Excel software
• A working knowledge of microbiology and molecular techniques
• Ability to interpret experimental results & to develop solutions to problems
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and techniques
• Ability to execute parallel projects and work within timelines.
• MS degree with 3 years of microbiology research experience or BS with 5 years of microbiology research experience
• Attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills
• Strong organizational and people skills, with ability to work in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize, analyze, and deliver information in a concise, accurate, and professional manner
• Ability to work safely with chemicals and microorganisms

Desired Skills, Education, & Knowledge

• Prior experience in formulation of microbial products
• Proficient in plant propagation and maintenance
• Experience with physical and chemical laboratory testing techniques such as particle size, dispersion, and wetting
• Familiarity with Agricultural products and product development
