Overview


Purpose Statement/Position Summary:


The Research Specialist within the Extracellular Vesicle Core assists faculty and staff in designing and implementing research projects. Independently plans, prepares, and conducts a wide variety of routine and non-routine (complex) laboratory procedures. Oversees multiple projects at a time. Records, tabulates, and analyzes data and assists with and provides expertise in the preparation of papers, posters, and scientific publications. Assists in training staff and may provide functional supervision to assigned laboratory personnel.


Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience


Bachelor’s degree, in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or psychology), plus 5 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments. OR Master’s degree or above, in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or psychology), plus 3 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments.


Education/Licensure/Certification


Bachelor's or Master's degree required.


Pay Scale Information


USD $39,728.00 - USD $71,635.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
