Job Description

Who We Are

Our Research Group primarily works in India in the states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, and coastal Ecuador. Our focus is on vulnerable populations, including mothers and children and those suffering from infectious diseases such as HIV infection, Tuberculosis, Dengue virus infection, Zika virus infection, and Malaria. Our research is on a) identifying risk factors that predict poor health in our communities as early as possible through active surveillance; b) inventing field-friendly devices such as the Cornell NutriPhone and FeverPhone to enable community-level or point-of-need diagnoses; and c) intervening to modify the identified risk factors mainly through sustainable interventions. We also work with implementing and developing guidelines with project partners, synthesizing evidence to help inform guidelines and policies. More details on current projects are at insight.cornell.edu/projects.

What You Will Do

We are seeking a full-time research assistant to join our team and work across multiple projects related to clinical trials, active surveillance, evidence synthesis, infectious diseases, nutrition, and maternal and child health, including child obesity. Responsibilities will include project management for ongoing work in India and Ecuador, liaising between the Ithaca and the in-country teams, and assisting with IRB submissions, grant applications, literature reviews, and manuscripts. Preparing scientific briefs for partner agencies and general audiences will also be required. May also conduct data analyses and have opportunities for authorship.

A cover letter and resume are required for further consideration for this position.
