Job Description
We are seeking a Research Analyst/Biostatistician who will provide support conducting investigations in pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety. The analyst willjoin a group of faculty and trainees engaged in this research - which includes analyses of prescription drug utilization, comparative effectiveness and safety - in the School of Public Health and School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins. The investigations use a variety of public and proprietary data sources including administrative data such as health plan claims, audits of ambulatory-based care, electronic health information such as N3C, and longitudinal patient surveys.
The analyst will have the opportunity to participate in multiple facets of the research from development of research aims to the preparation of final reports, although the primary activities will be to:
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate funded projects.
Perform quality control analysis of newly collected/obtained data.
Develop analytic datasets from raw data and create variables according to the research plan Conduct analysis for descriptive, cross-sectional and longitudinal studies.
Perform statistical analysis such as linear and logistic regression and survival analysis.
With PI's supervision, implement statistical methods for analysis of complex longitudinal data and use propensity score analysis and instrumental variable analysis methods Assist to prepare reports, manuscripts, and interpret results for scientific collaborators, prepare presentations for scientific meetings.
Assist in grant writing and generating preliminary data for grants.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Three years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health or related quantitative field preferred.
Strong experience analyzing healthcare claims (e.g., commercial or government healthcare claims data) and electronic medical records data.
Knowledge and experience performing analysis using SAS; familiarity with R and STATA Analytic experience with statistical methods such as linear, logistic, survival, hierarchical models and propensity scores.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong analytical skills.
Proficiency with data management, programming and biostatistical methods applied to large administrative data sets using programs such as SAS, STATA, and R.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
