Job Title: Representative, Scheduling

Leader: Supervisor, Patient Solutions

FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Work Location: This position is remote within the U.S.

Travel: No travel required

Compensation: $15.00 - $20.14


OVERVIEW

The Scheduling Representative is responsible for interacting with patients to gather information necessary for accurate scheduling and arrival/check-in.


Responsibilities include:

  • Determines where call needs to be forwarded and makes disposition of all calls that arrive at the practice
  • Answers incoming calls and establishes a positive first impression with patients and physicians
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Successful scheduling includes, but not limited to, exhibiting proficiency in scheduling appointments according to practice guidelines, verifying authorizations and referrals, performing key user duties with minimal errors
  • Maintains and updates patient demographic information accurately to computer database
  • Takes messages from physician line and returns calls or redirects as needed
  • Accurately documents patient to provider communication, assessing urgency and escalating as appropriate
  • Responsible for accurately scheduling and re-scheduling patient appointments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with health insurance and medical terminology a plus
  • Detail orientated and well organized with focus on accuracy and quality
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Positive attitude with ability to perform under pressure in a calm and professional manner
  • 1-year previous experience in a clerical position in a healthcare setting or physician office
  • Computer literate/able to use basic functions of a computer
  • Ability to type 40 WPM
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills to meet/exceed patient and client needs
  • Works effectively with team and others and demonstrates flexibility in job duties to further promote department goals
  • Basic math skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications:

  • EPIC experience highly desirable
