Job Summary
Provides medical necessity for air transport evaluation and evaluation/submission of all medical necessity appeals for government payors. Utilizes nursing experience and established clinical standards and protocols to validate air medical necessity and appeal payment denials.
Essential Functions/ Duties

• Works with the Appeal team to ensure that the maximum amount appealed for is allowed
• Ensures appeal timelines are met by moving the assigned book of business through the appeals process and updates appeals data base
• Receives the appeal request from the Appeal Prepper and inputs the information into the appeals data base
• Conducts the medical necessity appeals for all payor sources

Qualifications
Required Experience

• Proficient in Word, Excel, Office 365
• Minimum of five years in Emergency department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), flight or ambulance experience or job experience equivalent
• Two years management/leadership experience preferred

Required Education/Licensure

• Current RN Licensure
• BSN degree
