Medical Staff Credentialing Assistant II

Provide support for all credentialing functions and meeting coordination within medical affairs operations. Our flexible remote opportunities offers an excellent opportunity for those who flourish in a remote environment to achieve improved work/life balance as well as decrease annual commuting expenses.

The chosen candidate will be working directly with the departments senior leaders to coordinate committee meetings, perform credentialing audits, and other duties requested by the senior leadership team. Experience using Echo or Verity credentialing databases highly preferred


Responsibilities

  • Assists with the presentation and vetting of red flag quality issues, be able to speak to general credentialing and privileging questions, and facilitate the review and approval of files with the medical affairs leadership team and the department chairs or designees.
  • Assists with the coordination of the application and reapplication process for all practitioners who are seeking to be granted membership and or clinical privileges at MSHS, including but not limited to: verifying all relevant information via the primary source; reviewing and analyzing potential issues and concerns; and preparing files for routing to the appropriate medical staff leaders, committees and the governing body.
  • Supports all other functions of the medical staff office and performs other duties as assigned by department leadership.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and committee’s on behalf of the medical affairs leadership team, including conducting necessary follow up upon request.
  • Supports credentialing teams and the credentialing and privileging process to ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws and accrediting agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS, NCQA, etc.).
  • Maintains all credentialing related databases in accordance to medical staff policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Experience in an academic medical center, multi-entity health system and/or a CVO is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of credentialing experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Experience utilizing a credentialing database, preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite; advanced experience in MS Office Suite products, preferred
  • CPCS preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health care related field or equivalent work experience, required.
  • Must have a home office set up conducive for remote work and preferably have experience working in a remote environment

Compensation Statement


The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $25.32 - $37.97 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
