Remote Art Outsource Manager

Onward Play's indie, fantasy game studio is looking for an Art Outsource Manager to oversee and coordinate our external art operations across multiple projects. If you possess strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and meticulous attention to detail, this might be the perfect fit for you!

Responsibilities:

• Keep a well-organized schedule for asset delivery and implementation, effectively communicating any changes to both internal and external teams.
• Thrive in a fast-paced development environment, adept at adapting to shifting priorities and daily tasks.
• Verify that assets from external teams adhere to quality standards and prepare them for implementation.
• Develop and refine processes, best practices, and documentation for external art production.
• Ensure that the quality of incoming work meets our standards by exercising a discerning eye and meticulous attention to detail.
• Coordinate work assignments, provide feedback to outsourcing partners, and handle day-to-day communication.
• Manage the requests, assignments, overall schedule, and delivery of art assets in various disciplines such as concept, character, and environment art.
• Maintain a comprehensive schedule of all outsourcing efforts and ensure internal requirements are met.
• Collaborate closely with the production team, creative leads, and external partners on a daily basis.

Requirements:

• Shipped at least 1 recent title.
• Extensive knowledge and experience working with outsourcing, particularly in the realm of 3D assets.
• Experience tracking complex features and effectively reporting essential information concisely.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an artist in game development.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office, Slack, Asana, and Jira/Confluence.
• Ability to multitask and solve complex issues while meeting deadlines.
• At least 2 years' experience in a production or art leadership role in game development.
• Thorough understanding of the game development process.
• Familiarity with the tools, pipeline, and process involved in creating 3D assets.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
• Experience shipping titles on PC and consoles.
• Skilled in problem-solving and managing diverse teams.
• Passion for games.
• Proficiency with art tools such as modeling software and Photoshop.
• Solid foundation in traditional arts.
• Knowledge of live game operations.
• Experience with administration of various task and bug-tracking systems.
