Crafting & Art Instructor (Affiliate/Part-Time Instructor/Contractor Position)

Golden Peak Media’s (GPM) mission is to help artists and crafters by inspiring, educating and connecting them throughout their creative journey. Through newsletters, web communities, streaming workshops, on-demand classes, print publications, competitions and events, Golden Peak helps millions of people explore their passions and take their craft to the next level.

Golden Peak Media properties include Fons & Porters Love of Quilting, Interweave Knits, Artists Magazine, Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artists, Interweave Crochet, McCall’s Quilting, Sew News, Watercolor Artist, Drawing, and Pastel Journal (among a few our world-renowned brands).

Golden Peak Media is looking for creative and self-motivated individuals who want to teach in any of these disciplines at our Maker Festivals (including Bead Fest, Yarn Fest, Art Fest, & Stitch Fest), in our online classes, or as part of our TV/Web series. Given the creative mindsets of our readers and attendees, we are looking for instructors across all of crafting/arts -- it doesn't matter your speciality, we are interested from decorating cookies, to creating with trash ( Trashion), to sculpting, to knitting hats, to creating quilts, we love it all!

We are particularly interested in instructors who can teach beginner, foundational, or entry-level courses/classes, but are looking for all level of passionate instructors.

GPM invites applications for the pool for affiliate/part-time/contractor instructors. Qualified applicants will be placed in our instructor pool and will be considered for affiliate/part-time opportunities at our events and online shows.

GPM is particularly interested in applicants who have prior experience teaching classes (especially at the elementary, high-school, or college level), but first-time instructors are welcome to apply as well.

Affiliated faculty are contractual positions who are paid based upon the duration and class type.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly and patience with new learners
• At least five years of experience in the craft/art that you love
• Passion and love of the craft
• Bachelor’s Degree in Art or related field plus at least 1-3 years of professional and/or teaching experience.
