Base Salary: 80k USD

Bonus: 25-35%


Title: Relationship Development Associate

Reports To: Vice President, Buy-Side

Basic Function:

As a Relationship Development Associate, you will work as part of a centralized team in cultivating relationships with senior buy-side professionals and gathering the information that gives our clients its competitive advantage in the global consulting market. You will help formulate and execute marketing strategies and conduct phone interviews directly with decision makers at some of the highest levels of global organizations. Individuals in this position will work closely with the firm’s Field Operations team as well as our Consultants who run the study and provide the subject matter context to inform your interviews. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to be persuasive with buy-side clients are critical to the success of this role; financial markets knowledge is a plus but not required but preferred.

The Ideal Profile:

You have recently graduated or have 1-3 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. You are driven by the challenge to make every call successful and you are a hunter who is tenacious, persistent, resourceful and creative yet you understand the balance of being professional. During your down time you enjoy reading about the markets and you leverage social media to tap into insights about your clients. You enjoy putting all the pieces together from your daily calls and sharing trends with your colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise analysts regarding technical aspects of financial services research topics
  • Represent to top executives, demonstrating high levels of ability, knowledge and integrity
  • Build and nurture relationships with the Respondents through on-going relationship management interactions
  • Demonstrate expanding industry knowledge of financial marketplace
  • Enter collected data into our Survey application in a timely manner
  • Lead team as subject matter expert on one or more sectors of financial services
  • Continuously track status of your scheduling and interviewing efforts in firm’s contact management system
  • Collaborate with Buy-Side Marketing team to design and execute marketing strategies (our “value prop”)

  • Assist in training less experienced analysts in best practices of client contact list management
  • Conduct interviews and collect data through a telephone survey format
  • Advising and mentoring analysts in developing their client relations skillset, including phone and email etiquette, understanding institutional roles of buy-side clients, and other client relations aspects of the job
  • Managing client portfolio in core research projects
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Advising and mentoring analysts in developing their client relations skillset, including phone and email etiquette, understanding institutional roles of buy-side clients, and other client relations aspects of the job
  • Work with the Fielding team and Consultants to organize the fielding effort for a study
  • Assist in marketing campaign idea generation
  • Managing client portfolio in core research projects
  • Lead team as subject matter expert on one or more sectors of financial services
  • Assist in marketing campaign idea generation
  • Assist in training less experienced analysts in best practices of client contact list management
  • Report back to Consultants on trends in the market and interesting market-related feedback uncovered during the interviews
  • Make proactive business development calls to potential interview candidates with the goal of actively selling the benefits of participation and scheduling interview appointments

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong persuasion skills and ability to pro-actively sell benefits of study participation
  • Knowledge and interest in the financial markets
  • Strong desire to learn about financial services, market research and/or strategic consulting

  • Self-motivated to achieve goals in a performance driven sales atmosphere.
