Job Description
Savan Group is seeking a Regulatory Policy Specialist with three or more years of experience to provide regulatory development support to the federal government. The consultant will be in a client-facing role and will support the implementation of a new information security program at a large federal civilian agency. The consultant will be required to: (1) develop a strong understanding of the agency’s information security program and the regulations requiring revision, and (2) draft guidance and coordinate with agency counsel to revise regulations for clarity and consistency. The ideal candidate will be able to plan and lead client calls independently and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Develop clear, concise summaries of work performed (e.g., memos, presentations, status reports, etc.) for internal and external audiences.
  • Support internal project administration as requested.
  • Establish and facilitate a working group to support the development of proposed changes to regulations.
  • Participate in regular, internal team meetings and support collaboration.
  • Coordinate with agency counsel to draft an agency-wide guidance manual based on initial changes to regulations.
  • Ensure final deliverables are Section 508 compliant.
  • Develop an understanding of work performed by team members and support if needed.
  • Perform work in accordance with Savan Group’s quality policy and processes.
  • Coordinate reviews and facilitate the development of an interim agency-wide guidance manual.


Qualifications and Requirements:


  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Public Trust Clearance (or higher)
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations for senior leadership.
  • Experience with information security programs (e.g., Controlled Unclassified Information, Privacy, etc.)
  • Experience independently developing technical documents and research papers.
  • Interest in data and information management.
  • Background in Public policy
