Job Description
Registrar| Reading, PA

**This is a contract role at 40 hours a week.
The Registrar is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and promoting the policies and processes surrounding student records and related systems that support the success of all students. The Registrar must demonstrate commitment to building an inclusive and equitable academic community. The Registrar provides leadership and guidance to the faculty, in creating efficient course delivery schedules and implementing creative solutions to address academic needs.
The Registrar will lead and implement new processes and procedures into the culture of the campus environment. The Registrar must be able to interpret and apply data to support decision-making and evaluate the need for implementing change within the work of the Registrar’s office. The Registrar will manage and support professional development of the office staff. The Registrar will lead change, thrive in a collaborative work environment, demonstrate strategic and creative thinking, and strive to utilize campus tools and resources to their greatest efficiency to achieve academic efficiency, academic excellent and institutional goals.
Hours of operation are, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and effectively and proactively communicate with faculty committees including the Educational Policy Council, the Curriculum Development Committee and other related groups responsible for policies regarding grades, scheduling, majors and minors, probation, dismissal, advisor/advisees, room assignments, and equivalency agreements with other institutions.
  • Develop the Academic Schedule for the College, in collaboration with the administration and faculty, maximizing the availability of offerings to students, maximizing use of faculty teaching power, and optimizing the use of classroom resources.
  • Provide and coordinate registration information in accordance with college partnership agreements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditor and institutional regulations and policies for enrollment-related student and faculty functions, applying industry best practices.
  • Manage the maintenance, accuracy, integrity, security, compliance and storage of all academic records and information as outlined by FERPA and in the College’s policies on data stewardship.
  • Coordinate support to the admissions process through placements, transcript evaluations and transfer credits for traditional and adult undergraduate students.
  • Manage the record function, including integrity of current and archived student grades, transcripts, degrees awarded, probation, dismissal, enrollments, course history, semester progress reports, as well as graduation audit records.
  • Collaborate closely with student academic success offices to target support for student recruitment, retention, progression, and graduation, with a goal of full participation and equity across all student demographics.
  • Provide advice and consultation on peer norms, industry best practices and coming trends.
  • Manage registrar staff in a manner to provide optimal service and efficient use of staff time.
  • Conceive of, evaluate, and implement enhancements to existing systems and new technologies to support the student information systems.
  • Work with the Office of Academic Affairs to produce the Academic Catalog.
  • Collaborate closely with Institutional Research and other offices on institutional effectiveness, efficient use of academic resources (including faculty time and classroom usage), and enrollment research to enhance the college’s ability to achieve its mission and goals.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit long periods at a time and or stand long periods at a time
  • Significant experience with student administrative software
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to business needs
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as need to move equipment across the campus environment
  • Three to five years’ experience in a Registrar's office with direct experience pertaining to academic policy, curriculum issues, and student records.
