Full Time, nights. 36 hours/week.
Pay Range is between $39.68-$56.52/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range includes night differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.

SUMMARY
The RN Oncology position functions as a direct patient caregiver within the unit’s care delivery system. The RN integrates nursing theories in patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)
- Colorado RN license in good standing.
- BLS certification required by completion within conditional period of hired position.
- ACLS encouraged for Clinical Team Leads.
Oncology Hires ONLY:
- ONS Chemotherapy certification within 6 months of hire. New Graduate RN’s will have 1 year from hire to complete ONS certification.
- OCN certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Demonstrated physical and mental ability to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice.
Experience
- Acute oncology experience preferred.
- At least one year of nursing in an acute care setting preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Patient Care
- Communicates clearly in all aspects of documentation.
- Demonstrates clinical competence in performing nursing procedures and identifies the rationale underlying the nursing skills.
- Identifies patient care problems, makes interventions based upon an understanding of the biopsychosocial processes.
- Actively seeks participation of the patient, family, and other members of the health care team to assure continuity of patient care.
- Assesses patient status systematically and anticipates and responds to changes in patient clinical condition.
- Provides direct total patient care for specific group of patients with collaboration as needed.
- May be required to perform point of care testing. May be a point of care trainer.
- Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission Standards.
Patient Education
Identifies patient learning needs, develops and implements and individualizes teaching plan for patients.
Management and Decision-Making
- Utilizes effective time management skills in planning and providing patient care.
- Provides constructive input to problem solving.
Professional Growth
- Identifies own learning needs and expands knowledge base through clinical practice and self-directed learning.
- Attends unit educational programs.
- Participates in peer review process as requested.
- Takes ONS certification exam within 3 years of hire.
Professional Contributions
- Shares knowledge obtained from workshops and literature with health care team on an individual or group basis.
- Assists with data collection for QA/ research activities as requested.
- Participates in achieving the goals of the unit, division, and hospital.
- Able to function as preceptor for students and/or orients new staff.
- Participates on committees for hospital and/or unit.
