The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for delivering market revenue, volume and brand development goals via the execution of company off- premise strategic initiatives across DE, MD, and DC. The successful candidate will manage local distributor teams as well as lead and manage all chain and independent accounts. Additionally, this individual will execute at the field level in on- and off- premise accounts and will require the ability to evaluate, implement and execute key brand programs to accelerate sales. This position will have potential for growth and promotion within the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supporting distributor salespeople, observing competitive market activity and evaluating distributor execution against our initiatives
- Provide market and competitive brand updates to supervisor, including timely and accurate communication of changing field conditions that may affect volumes, as well as staffing changes at distributor and competitors
- Function as primary contact for distributor sales teams to ensure they are informed of local and national objectives and programs while providing support for all sales related activities
- Maintain a calendar of activities and promotions ensuring distributor and third-party agencies have successful communications
- Review programs and execution updates with distributor management
- Meet with key on-and off- premise accounts within the assigned area to develop strong working relationships
- Be visible at the distributor office, meeting with sales representatives and management to ensure share of mind
- Align with key local events and partners and participate where the opportunity fits brand strategy, including execution of national initiatives in the local market
- Provide monthly market activity report to the supervisor, including a list of objectives, accomplishments, competitive activity, special projects and/or any specific needs
- Managing distributors on a day-to-day basis to deliver volume and financial budgets, adherence to brand policies, hitting distribution & merchandising objectives and managing promotional activity
- Provide updates on effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives including programs, POS, advertising, etc.
- Stay informed of customer and consumer trends
Role Qualifications:
- Sales and Marketing Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Proficient using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent people skills
- Clean driving record and ability to lift a 45lb case of company product
- 3-5 years work-related experience in distilled spirits/wine supplier industry
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Emphasis in Management and/or Marketing
- Advanced computer proficiency
