Job Description
Navion Senior Solutions, a leading provider of Senior Living Services, is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Plant Operations to join its rapidly growing team. The Regional Director of Plant Operations oversees the associates responsible for the general operating maintenance and repair of the communities in their area or region and its physical plant to maintain proper orientation of each community.
Essential Functions:
  • Assists onsite POD with scheduled maintenance on: HVAC systems, PTACS, Fleet Vehicles, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment, and emergency help call equipment.
  • Directs associates engaged in the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the community. Inspects completed work for conformance to standards and policies.
  • Responds appropriately to resident or community emergencies by assisting onsite POD as needed.
  • Assists in hands on maintenance of building including turning vacated rooms in a timely manner. This includes painting and cleaning carpets. Assures that walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained.
  • Maintains positive communication with local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community.
  • Responsible for hands on support of the community Plant operations director to include maintenance, housekeeping and laundry (if applicable) This includes interviewing, hiring, training, and assisting Executive Director with evaluating performance. This is the primary function of this position.
  • Assesses all plumbing and electrical problems within the community and determines the best course of action to correct the problem. Works within the legal scope of local and state codes.
  • Provides 24-7 on call support to onsite POD in each community including disaster relief including evacuations and hurricane preparedness.
  • Reviews chemical safety data sheets (SDS) as requested for potential exposure to hazardous chemicals used and takes necessary action to resolve issues timely.
  • Assists onsite POD in managing TELS PM’s and work orders for items needing repair including but not limited to; plumbing, electrical, heating and replacing light bulbs.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on building maintenance and facilities management experience, preferably in a senior living or multi-family environment
  • HVAC & Mechanical Experience is preferred.
  • To be successful you will need to have the ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal skills for effective communication, be competent in organizational, time management skills and demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A valid driver's license for occasional transportation support.
  • Experience managing staff and budgets is required.
  • A high School diploma or GED accepted
  • You will also need to demonstrate your ability to serve seniors in a team environment
