Job Description

Southeast Region Director

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION


Provide leadership to clinical managers and clinical associates in the delivery of clinically excellent and efficient healthcare services to clients. Accountable for the clinical, operational and financial management of assigned operations groups to meet or exceed clinical quality, engagement, efficiency and financial targets, and to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements. Provide direction in managing customer, physician and employee relations in a manner that is consistent with SpecialtyCare (SC) Values.

Must reside in one of the following states: TN, AL, AR, LA, GA, NC, SC, FL


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Complete administrative work in a timely manner.
    • Oversee and support neuro services clinical managers day to day operational requirements including credentialing of associates, meeting daily client needs and ensure Joint Commission requirements and applicable regulatory requirements are met.
    • Complete all administrative duties in a timeframe and manner that meets/exceed expectations, including answering emails and phone calls, and approvals for timesheets, expenses, variable compensation, and MDEP payment.
  • Uphold SpecialtyCare’s policies and standards. Support the resolution of clinical, credentialing or operational issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with SpecialtyCare’s clinical practice guidelines through overseeing completion of monthly clinical chart audits and meet/exceed score targets.
  • Lead by example and set the standard for SpecialtyCare leadership by demonstrating the SpecialtyCare values in your words and actions
  • Ensure SpecialtyCare’s clinical quality standards and protocols are adhered to consistently.
    • Ensure compliance with SpecialtyCare’s clinical practice guidelines through overseeing completion of monthly clinical chart audits and meet/exceed score targets.
  • 30% Operations
  • Complete all administrative duties in a timeframe and manner that meets/exceed expectations, including answering emails and phone calls, and approvals for timesheets, expenses, variable compensation, and MDEP payment.
  • Focus on operational efficiency and results.
    • Execute company, service line, and region initiatives across operational territory.
    • Uphold SpecialtyCare’s policies and standards. Support the resolution of clinical, credentialing or operational issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
    • Develop strategic plans to grow contribution margin by increasing revenue and managing cost.
      • Maintain annual attrition rate below targets
      • Meet/exceed all financial targets
      • Analyze trends and market information. Disseminate competitive information to company leaders.
    • Lead the management of associate productivity to optimize clinical efficiency and utilization
      • Meet/exceed targeted staffing and productivity levels for ops group.

    • Build and maintain relationships with physicians and hospital customers including hospital administrators, materials management, billing representatives and operating room staff.
      • Meet contractual requirements and ensure applicable policies at accounts are met. Ensure customers’ expectations are met/exceeded.
      • Maintain customer satisfaction to meet/exceed retention rate metrics.
      • Initiate and execute contract renewals with strategic intention prior to expiration.
      • Report at risk accounts to Region President and develop action plans to address.
      • Conduct business reviews and facilitate evolving on-site relationship management and expectation meetings based on cadence set by Region President.
      • Clinical quality reporting is completed quarterly or at an appropriate customer cadence.
      • Customer and physician needs are addressed in a time frame appropriate to the need/issue in order to maintain relationships and meet/exceed expectations.
    • Work collaboratively with Business Development team to enter and grow markets and support enterprise wide growth targets including identifying cross sale and penetration opportunities.
      • Meet or exceed organic and new business growth targets for Operations Group.
  • Meet or exceed targets for engagement survey scores.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in and support local recruiting efforts for experienced new hires and SNI candidates.
  • Lead the management of associate productivity to optimize clinical efficiency and utilization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience:

  • Experience as a clinical leader or senior manager over multiple locations or large hospital system, preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of operational and financial management experience in healthcare or multi-state operations.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of overall related experience.
  • Experience with contract management of clinical services to hospitals and other health care systems, preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, acceptable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to influence perceptions, decisions and actions of others through effective communications.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop improvement plans, and lead implementation of improvement plans with individuals and groups including employees, customers and physicians.
  • Demonstrated leadership of people and business processes.
  • Must have computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must have innovative, creative, systematic and logistical reasoning skills.
  • Dedicated to on-going professional development.
  • Ability to clearly speak, write and understand English.
  • Proven track record in managing change in complex environments.
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and prepare business and financial reports and documents
