This job develops a comprehensive and strategic framework to support diversity and inclusion efforts and oversees overall program design of diversity and inclusion programs within assigned region. Develops and implements a full range of initiatives that support ongoing leadership efforts to ensure organization-wide understanding, adoption and adherence to the policy on diversity and inclusion. Engages in continuous, systematic and focused recruitment and retention activities to ensure diverse populations, including enhancement of mentorship and advancement opportunities. Ensures system benchmarks are utilized to define and set thresholds/goals for recruitment and retention programs, including the identification and tracking of metrics for monitoring of programming. Completes long term mapping of existing programming to diversity categories and collects data on program outcome effectiveness, resources, and sustainability.


Education


Required – Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, health administration, nursing administration or related field.


Preferred – Master’s degree in human resources, business administration, health administration, nursing administration or related field


Work Experience


Required – 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role or a Master’s degree in a related field can be accepted in lieu of this experience.


Required – 5 Years Of Professional Change Management Experience.


Preferred – 5 years of professional change management experience including 3 years in healthcare.


Knowledge Skills And Abilities (KSAs)


  • Strong knowledge of continual quality and process improvement along with effective program and data management that results in measurable cultural change and adherence to diversity and inclusion standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills and ability to effectively obtain cooperation and support from a broad range of internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to be a seasoned innovator in the field of strategic inclusion, diversity and/or human resources and clinical management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence cultural change and outcomes in a complex environment.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.


Job Duties


  • Articulates definition of diversity standards within context of the system; develops policy and procedures; deploys, oversees and implements strategies to meet diversity standards; and establishes and measures institutional metrics that adhere to diversity standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Ensures full development and implementation of all action planning activities associated with ongoing compliance and adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements and manages the annual diversity and inclusion calendar, including the collection, analysis and review of all diversity and inclusion-based activities within the region on an annual basis.
  • Manages all diversity and inclusion data collection and associated maintenance activities, compiles the submission of required annual reports and cultivates HR data.
  • Identifies opportunities to align diversity and inclusion with organizational strategy and ensures the organization and alignment of programs dedicated to expanding the pipeline of diverse students that enter medical school and the health sciences.
  • Builds diversity regional councils, implements regional organizations.
  • Oversees the development of training and workshops that enhance the diversity and inclusion, and continuously refines training programs to heighten awareness of and reduce the impact of bias in recruitment, hiring and promotions processes.
  • Creates a community of inclusion and support; works collaboratively with departmental leadership teams to maintain audit survey, cataloging efforts and activities promoting diversity and inclusion at the local level; and evaluates engagement surveys for the purposes of initiating a continuous environmental scan of diversity and inclusion.
