Manage region support for assigned Operating Company. Responsibilities may include oversight of customer interface; engineering services departments, including design, drafting, distribution planning, mapping, right of way, contract coordination, and administration (redlining, invoicing, expediting, etc.); network resources; network engineering; standards compliance; power quality; forestry; the initiating/planning of distribution asset programs; planning/implementation of the vegetation management programs; distribution system planning; meter services; and field communications for the operating company to which assigned. Facilitation of risk mitigation and reliability programs along with the oversight/direction of those projects. Oversee annual O&M budget and a capital budget relative to distribution operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:
1) Lead and coach to ensure that each employee maintains a customer-focused attitude by conveying a thorough understanding of customer expectations and instill the importance of achieving a superior customer experience.
2) Lead and direct the region support group into an effective team by developing the management and technical skills of subordinates.
3) Assure consistency in distribution engineering and compliance with applicable standards and codes.
4) Maintain a consistent and effective safety awareness program in the department to ensure corporate goals.
5) Collaborate with distribution team members to manage and monitor appropriate budgets and performance goals.
6) Assure power system quality is consistent with corporate goals.
7) Responsible for maintaining a safe and reliable contract workforce (in some OpCos).
This Region Support Manager will lead the APCo Distribution Engineering group (System Analysis) which is responsible for the development of system improvement projects to improve service reliability to the customers and modernizing the distribution system to meet the challenges of the future. Some of the many duties include:

• Leading selection of the Projects in the APCo annual Work Plan and assist with the overall Work Plan development
• Understand and implement the Integrated Distribution Plan (IDP) in APCo following the AEP IDP Process
• Support the execution of the Work Plan to meet budget targets for Capital and O&M
• Enhance team focus on customer service and reliability
• Represent APCo Distribution on AEP initiatives and process improvement teams
• Lead the develop / training of the System Analysis Engineers in conjunction with the Project Design Supervisors
• Build a team with a culture that supports the AEP and Gallup Culture ideals including diversity and inclusion
• Drive the modernization of the distribution system to meet the needs of the grid of the future
• Supervise and lead the three Project Design Teams in System Analysis
• Instill safe work practices and the inclusion of safety into each system improvement project

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education requirements are listed below:

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, engineering, or related field.

Work Experience requirement listed below:
Minimum of eight years' experience in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations with five years of supervisory experience in distribution or equivalent experience.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

• Must maintain a state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

1. Good understanding and knowledge of distribution systems is essential and of the transmission systems is beneficial. 2. Good written and verbal communications skills. 3. Moderate amount of travel will be required. 4. Prior service as a Manager-Distribution Systems, or similar role, is beneficial but not required. 5. Relevant project management experience is desired. 6. Must be able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard. 7. Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone, or during individual or group meetings.
