Georgetown’s
Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS)
serves as the university's primary mental health service for our students. Our central mission is to collaborate directly with students in overcoming difficulties that may interfere with their well-being and the accomplishment of their educational, personal, and career goals.
Job Overview
The Referral Coordinator conducts the coordination of referral services to students, in addition to the delivery of psychotherapy, counseling, outreach, and consultation services to Georgetown students, and consultations to deans, faculty, staff, and parents. They build relationships with and expands referral network, offers education on referrals to students and campus staff, supports CAPS staff in making referrals, and directly coordinates referrals in many cases.
Work Interactions

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Referral Coordinator provides direct service to students, consultations to deans and faculty regarding student issues, relationship building with off campus providers, consultation to other CAPS staff and Student Health Service staff.
Qualifications
  • Licensure in the District of Columbia as a social worker or psychologist (If not yet licensed, then licensure must be achieved within 2 years of the employment start date)
  • Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or a related field or an MSW
Preferred qualification
  • Demonstrated experience working with the issues described above
  • Professional mental health experience at a college
