Job Description
FEFA LLC is seeking an experienced Records Manager in the Rockville, MD area. The qualified candidate will work in all phases of the records management lifecycle and have experience conducting records inventories, scanning, uploading, and converting physical documents, developing file plans, and drafting records control schedules for all phases of the records management lifecycle. In addition to helping enhance an established records management program, the candidate will assist in introducing new technologies, best practices, and effective implementation of procedures to ensure the program's viability and effectiveness.


Experience:


  • Conducting records inventory
  • Outlining file plans (taxonomies)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of various electronic record keeping systems such as, Email management, digital imaging, cloud storage and social media
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of federal record-keeping practices, issues and specialties
  • Drafting records control schedules
  • Basic understanding and experience in all phases of the records management lifecycle


Position Summary:


  • Ensure compliance with NARA and FDA records management requirements
  • Report status of work performed (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) as required
  • Access various federal government systems to determine whether the document has already been uploaded to the appropriate system
  • Perform peer-review QC on scanned documents
  • Develop the inventory list of government regulatory documents
  • Assess the documents to determine their content, value, and retention requirements in accordance with all applicable federal legal and regulatory requirements including the Federal Records Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act, and NARA, GSA, FDA requirements
  • Prepare documents for disposition (transfer or destruction) following NARA and agency guidelines
  • Digitize, scan and upload to the appropriate system documents that have not already been uploaded
  • Provide technical expertise in sorting, reviewing, organizing, and scanning documents
  • Identify records that are eligible for disposition (transfer or destruction) following NARA and/or agency retention schedules
  • Ensure adherence to all FDA/Federal rules, regulations, policies, guidance documents, and procedures


Requirements


  • 3+ years of professional records management experience (with a Bachelor’s degree)
  • Must be a US Citizenship and able to meet all background requirements
  • Certification in Records Management or Information Management (CRM, NARA Records Certification, AIIM records-related certification) is a plus
  • Federal records management experience required
  • Good written and oral communication skills
