- Maintain a thorough understanding of laws, directives, policies, manuals and current issues pertaining to Federal and Navy RM.
- Support implementation of a comprehensive Records Management program in accordance with National Archive and Records Administration (NARA), Department of the Navy, and Naval Sea Systems Command RM requirements and protocols at Division Newport.
- Maintain expertise with RM software applications and support effective implementation of RM technology and electronic records management at the command.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in the development and delivery of effective RM orientation, training, documentation and outreach programs.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Federal Records Manager certification a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with required software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with Department of the Navy instructions
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- Ability to learn other government-specific software and systems.
- Experience with Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, SharePoint
- Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with records management and National Archive and Records Administration policies and procedures and electronic records management systems
- Records Management experience
- Experience preferred in U.S. Navy programs or operations.
- Degree in Library Science or Qualifying experience in Records and Information Management.
