Job Description

Are you interested in joining a committed and caring community health clinic? In this role, you are a crucial link between patients and the service and care delivery team. You serve as the first point-of-contact over the phone and when patients arrive. Likewise, you are the last person the patient interacts with when scheduling their next visit. This position is full-time, located in our Wausau, Wisconsin clinic, and will be on average 40 hours (5 days) per week, Monday through Friday, Occasional travel to work at other locations will be required as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Foster patient comfort and trust.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail.
  • Greet and screen patients and visitors; obtain and maintain client demographics and schedule follow up appointments accordingly.
  • Continuously serve our patients, community, and staff with the utmost respect, discretion, diplomacy and tact.
  • Assist urgent dental/medical needs and appropriately triage to appropriate resource.
  • Answer, screen, provide information and route incoming calls.
  • Receive coinsurance and account payments, record payment in the client record, maintain cash box.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong customer services skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • A valid Wisconsin driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personally held vehicle/automobile liability insurance
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a clinic receptionist, and/or working with patient registration, and direct patient contact both over the phone and in-person or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment for duration of shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an outpatient clinic.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Hmong or Spanish.
  • Experience working within a scheduling and electronic health record system.
  • Knowledge of dental and or medical terminology.
  • Post-Secondary education.
