Job Description
The Office of the Governor is looking for a Receptionist in the Anchorage Executive Office! This position provides support in the Office of the Governor, with a primary focus on staffing the Governor's Anchorage reception desk and other miscellaneous administrative duties. This is an entry-level position.
Example of Duties
  • Use of Microsoft Software Suite.
  • Primary reception duties, including answering phone calls, receiving visitors, assisting the public, and transferring callers to the appropriate staff person or agency.
  • Providing assistance with constituent inquiries and requests.
  • Assist Office Manager with special projects and miscellaneous tasks to include travel arranging for office staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate for this position must have:
  • Discretion and independent judgment in evaluating information and understanding the ramifications of actions taken. Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to adapt and function independently and cooperatively in a professional, fast- paced working environment.
  • General understanding of proper telephone etiquette and customer service protocols.
  • A courteous and professional demeanor; customer service experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of office equipment including scanners, copiers, fax machines, printers, and Windows PC Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an upbeat group.
  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
