Real Estate Asset Management Accounting Intern

Job Highlights

You will gain practical experience in preparing and manipulating bank data for accounting purposes, as well as adjusting balance sheets and income statements. This internship will provide you with hands-on exposure to accounting software and equip you with the skills necessary to analyze financial data accurately and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation and organization of bank data for input into the accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  2. Learn and apply data manipulation techniques to import and format bank transactions in the accounting system, maintaining proper categorization and alignment with accounting principles.
  3. Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile discrepancies and resolve any issues related to bank data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  4. Gain an understanding of balance sheets and income statements, and assist in adjusting and reconciling these financial statements as needed.
  5. Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using accounting software or the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to accurately process and manipulate financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and convey financial information.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statements is preferred.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and standards is a plus.

The internship enrollment period is flexible. The expected hours are 20 per week for ~3 months. Upon completion, you will receive an internship confirmation letter, or you can apply to your school for internship credit.
