You will also be Leading/Collaborating with a Cross-Functional Team to provide timely and cost-effective New Innovations, Product Improvements, and Cost Savings to drive the growth of the Company.As theProject Manager/Food Scientistyou will:- Project Management - Develop Project Plans and Leading Cross-Departmental TeamsBench-Top New Product Development to Deliver on Consumer/Customer Objectives Utilizing Scientific TechniquesConduct Formulation and/or Process Optimization ProjectsBe able to Translate Concepts into Manufacturing Friendly ProductsDemonstrate Sound Understanding of Formulation and Process Design for Safe Quality Foods (GMPs, SQF, HACCP)Identifies, Sources, Evaluates, and Obtains Necessary Approvals for New and/or Alternate Ingredients and SuppliersConduct Pilot Plant and Production Line TrialsProvide Production Start-Up SupportSpecification and Process Parameter Development Utilizing Electronic Systems and TemplatesProvide Process Parameters, Product and Quality Specifications, BOM Values, and Information for Label DevelopmentConduct Shelf-Life Testing and Sensory EvaluationsConduct Productivity Initiative and Waste Reduction ProjectsConduct Alternate Ingredient EvaluationsCoordinate Pricing Requests for New Product Developments or Formula RevisionsSupport Sales, Marketing, and Customers in Idea GenerationParticipate in Internal and External Customer Meetings and Product PresentationsAdhere to GMPs and Safety RegulationsAnd do Additional Functions as Determined by ProjectsWhat you need:- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Food Science/Chemistry/Biology or Related AreaFive or more years of experience, ideally in snacks or similar area.Ability to Lift Up to 50 Pounds on OccasionStrong Written and Oral Communications SkillsCreative Problem-Solving Skills, Sound Judgment, and an Orientation Towards InnovationRequires Strong Analytical, Organizational, and Multi-Tasking Skills, as well as the Ability to Interact and Collaborate Successfully with All Levels and Functional AreasPreferred:- Knowledge of Genesis R&D SoftwareAbility to TravelWho we are:Roskam Baking Companyhas been making a variety of delicious bakery products and snacks in West Michigan since 1923.
