Quantitative Developer - Python

Company Insight:

A well-established international commodities hedge fund is seeking a Quant Engineer to help pioneer the company’s systematic expansion into natural power, by implementing an entirely greenfield, cloud-native Research Platform written in a modern Python stack.

Your role:

• Design and build scalable, performant systems for conducting Commodities research and real-time alpha generation.
• Driving projects for the continued build-out of the overall state-of-the-art technology platform.
• Build bespoke frameworks for exploring, designing and deploying systematic strategies and signals.
• Partner closely with researchers and traders, offering direction and technology support.

Experience/skills required:

• Comfortable with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and experience of developing cloud-natively: microservices, stateless architecture, data object stores, containers, event-based triggers, queues, stream processing, etc.
• Ability to design robust systems with end-to-end ownership of project deliveries.
• Minimum of 4 years hands-on development experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understands design patterns (Gang of Four).
• Ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Good database design and architecture skills, preferably with MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Proficient with object-oriented design and programming.
• Strong practical skills with Python.
