The work we do has an impact on millions of lives, and you can be a part of it.
We help protect our customers against life’s uncertainties. Regardless of where you work within the company, you’ll be helping provide protection and peace of mind when our customers need it most.

Asset Liability Management (ALM) is at the core of a life insurer’s ability to operate successfully. In this role, the individual will lead and be accountable for the ALM practice of the organization. Protective is committed to growing through both our retail and acquisition channels. This growth will introduce new challenges as well as opportunities. The ALM team plays a critical role in identifying and implementing ALM strategies that support the organization’s overall strategic initiatives. This is a visible role with both ALM and Treasury responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the ALM practice in leading the team through change in our evergreen journey to ensure Protective’s ALM practice is in-line with industry peers. This will be evidenced by leading and supporting operational initiatives to advance the broader ALM practice.
  • Candidate will advance Bloomberg, Bond Edge, Asset Delphi use and application for the ALM

  • Candidate will support our strategic asset allocation practice.
  • To be effective in this role the ALM Senior Analyst is required to manage strong partnerships across cross-functional areas by building trust and promote internal and external collaboration.
  • Candidate will be accountable for timely and thorough development/maintenance of all process documentation supporting the capital markets modeling area.
  • Candidate should have a strong (hands-on) working knowledge of market scenario generation and curve dynamics.
  • Responsible for asset modeling across our broad array of asset class and ensure quality cash flow delivery supporting both internal and cross-functional deliverables. This includes privates, collateralized assets and assets with embedded optionality.
  • Advance ALM’s practice by leading capital market modeling and related process management and documentation. Candidate should have a good working knowledge of stochastic calculus and applied statistical modeling.
  • The associate must have a team player mindset. Comfortable working with (or through) ambiguity and change. Self-motivated, this position requires an accomplished problem solver unafraid to dive into new and complex problems and see them through completion.

Experience and Soft Skills:

  • Required: Advanced knowledge of MS Office (including Excel VBA), SQL, and asset modeling/projection systems (e.g., BondEdge, others). Position management system familiarity with Bloomberg, and BlackRock’s Alladin applications
  • 5+ years' experience in any following disciplines preferred: Capital market modeling (theory and practice) across the fixed-income and derivatives space, Life & Annuity valuation/pricing.
  • Self-Motivated. Associate can work independently, learn new concepts quickly.
  • Candidate must be comfortable with change. Learning and receptive to new concepts, practices, and comfortable working through ambiguity.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and technical skills
