Quality Inspector Jobs

NOV Wellbore Technologies is seeking a Quality Inspector located in Cedar Park, TX. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations of a visual, dimensional, and functional nature, making necessary critical observations, tests, or competing appropriate documentation as required. Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests and identifying defects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
• Perform inspections on components.
• Review inspection records received for compliance.
• Perform source inspections at facilities.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
• Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s) for nonconforming parts.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Facility Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all gages are in calibration, clean and free of rust, as well as in good working conditions at all times before use and traceable to/from their assigned storage location.
• Identify discrepancies and prepare non-conformity reports.
• Observe safety regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or reports them to supervisors.
• Responsible for the proper care of all company tools and measuring equipment before, during and after use
• Perform In process, final and receiving inspection, and work with inspectors and manufacturing employees in other inspection areas. Inspections are made against drawing, specification and/or instructions. Accountable for product/process incoming and/or final inspection activities required for purchased and manufactured parts, respectively, and processes.
• Ensure that all records are kept accurately updated according to established procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent, required.
• 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training, required.
• Experience measuring API and/or ACME threads is preferred.
• ASQ certification (inspector) preferred.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Must be able to use calipers, required.
• Must be proficient with mechanical inspection tools and techniques (required).

Working Conditions:

• Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds.
• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
• Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
• Standing 65% of the time
• Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
